The College Library is set up in the year 2025-26. The Library had an initial collection of 200 books and they catered to the B.Com Course.
The collection includes over 20 reference books and the mandatory textbooks. It also includes books and encyclopedias on environment, management, television, journalism, video production, politics and history, along with Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil literature. An eclectic collection of fiction and non-fiction books has also been built up.
It has now been transformed into a grand academic user-friendly environment. The research, reading and book section areas are now made even more accessible to library users. Demarcated areas for the library staff have also made it convenient for them to render services.
The overall seating capacity is now enhanced, both in the reading room and in 2 study centre areas with 2 personal computers. The faculty area has a seating capacity of 8. There is a separate section for display of magazines and journals, including new arrivals. Back volumes of magazines and journals are also maintained in glass display racks in the designated area.
A baggage counter area is also provided for students to deposit their bags. The entire library is under CCTV surveillance. Books are kept in a compactor system and the books section is fully open-access for users to browse through. Reference books are stored in the reading room area in a compactor system as well.
The library also provides special seating arrangements for physically challenged learners and staff. It is equipped with desktop computers for staff, Kindle e-readers, and internet connectivity. Document scanning is also available. The entire library is fully air-conditioned.
The daily user attendance is maintained by an attendance scanner connected to the library software. For the benefit of faculty and students, the library committee organizes information literacy programs every year, thus creating awareness and prioritizing user satisfaction.
Monday to Friday: 8 AM to 4 PM
Saturday: 8 AM to 2:30 PM
A Library committee consisting of the librarian and faculty members is set up every year. It predominantly comprises the Principal, faculty members, and the librarian. The committee coordinates the working of the library with institutional needs and is considered the backbone of the college library.
Its responsibilities include formulating codes of conduct, arranging book exhibitions, updating syllabi, and organizing academic events. It conducts and reviews: information literacy programs, writers’ events, career-oriented events, NET/SET/Civil Services sessions, and book sales for needy students.
Through these efforts, the committee fulfills its core function: attracting and retaining maximum users.
